CHLORINE:

A number of different chlorine types can be used in pools, such as sodium hypochlorite (liquid chlorine), calcium hypochlorite (calcium based granular chlorine), lithium hypochlorite (lithium based granular chlorine) dichloro-isocyanurate (sodium based stabilised chlorine) or trichloro-isocyanurate.

SALT:

A salt chlorinator uses an electrolytic process to convert the salt in a pool to chlorine, which eventually reverts back to salt again in a continuous cycle.

IONISER:

       An ioniser uses an electrolytic process across probes made from a metal mix

        to disperse ions into the pool water, usually copper and silver.

BIGUANIDE:

       A non-chlorine product that is easier to use than chlorine and ideal for above    

        ground pools due to it’s reduced level of corrosiveness.

TESTING:

       Testing shows the levels of various parameters that affect pool water, such as          pH, total alkalinity, calcium hardness, chlorine and salt (if a salt pool).
