Giardia Lamblia and
Cryptosporidium can be present in any surface water supply unless
specific treatment has been provided to eliminate them.
One such treatment,
which is easily undertaken by householders, is exclusion of the
parasites by installing a water filter fitted with a cartridge
rated at 1 micron absolute or less.
Most cartridges available on the market carry a nominal
rating only and whilst perfectly adequate for normal filtering
they do not guarantee that larger particles do not pass through
- only absolute rated cartridges carry this guarantee. |
