The PumpSaver 233 protects 1/3
to 3 HP (max 17 amps) single phase submersible, centrifugal and
jet pumps against the following:
- Dry Running
- Flow restrictions
- Pump Jam (overcurrent)
- Overvoltage
- Undervoltage
- Rapid Cycling
The PumpSaver 233 is calibrated to
a specific pumping application, reducing the possibility of false
and nuisance tripping often associated with other pump protectors.
Calibration is easily carried out on site, only takes seconds
and is just a matter of selecting the 'calibration' position
on the set screw, bringing the pump to normal operating conditions
and waiting a few seconds for the PumpSaver 233 to carry out
its internal calibration process until the calibration light
turns on.
The PumpSaver 233 is then set to the
restart delay period required, and the unit is ready for operation.
A unique micro-processor based voltage
and current sensing circuit constantly monitors the incoming
power for power factor fluctuations, overcurrent and undercurrent.
When an abnormality such as loss of pump suction is detected,
the PumpSaver 233 de-activates its output relay, stops the pump
and extinguishes its 'run' light after a programmed trip delay.
The PumpSaver 233 then begins its user selectable 'restart delay'
(dry bore recovery timer). When the timer counts to zero or the
'restart delay/calibration' adjustment is rotated to the 'reset'
position, the PumpSaver 233 re-activates its output relay, restarts
the pump and turns on the 'run' light.
If a rapid cycle condition is detected,
the PumpSaver 233 will de-activate its output relay but will
lock out until manually reset, since a rapid cycle usually requires
repair intervention to correct.
Much better protection than old-fashioned
probe equipment and easily fitted to most installations, the
PumpSaver 233 represents a technological quantum leap for the
pumping industry. |
